WHITE PLAINS, NY – Archbishop Stepinac High School is proud to announce its Spring Musical, Come From Away, the Tony Award-winning musical about humanity, hope and resilience amid extraordinary challenges.

Based on the true story of the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, the show recounts how 38 planes carrying 7,000 stranded passengers were diverted there on September 11, 2001. In the face of uncertainty, the people of Gander welcomed the "come from aways" with open arms—offering food, shelter, and compassion, and forging extraordinary human connections that still resonate today.

Performances will take place on April 25, 26, May 1, 2, and 3 in the Stepinac High School Major Bowes Auditorium. The production is directed by alumnus Frank Portanova '93 and produced by fellow alumnus Keith Sunderland '94.

The story of Come From Away is rooted in the extraordinary acts of courage and compassion that followed September 11, 2001. In that same spirit of service and sacrifice, Archbishop Stepinac High School will donate proceeds from every full paid ticket to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which honors firefighter Stephen Siller who gave his life on 9/11, and supports Gold Star families, fallen first responder families, and catastrophically injured veterans with mortgage-free and specially adapted homes.

"Stepinac's proud support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation allows us to extend the values of our school beyond the stage," said James Scully '80, member of the Board of Trustees. "By pairing this incredible musical with a meaningful cause, we show our students the impact of community, service, and generosity in action."

"This show proves that no matter the circumstances, people can come together and create hope," said cast member Sebastian Noriega '26. "Supporting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation through our production reminds me that the message of unity and service isn't just something we are performing on stage — it's something we can live out and be part of in real life."

With book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, and arrangements by Ian Eisendrath, Come From Away was originally produced on Broadway by Junkyard Dog Productions and has become a global theatrical phenomenon.
