Description: The Peer Mentoring program is designed to support freshmen, and transfer students with their transition to Stepinac. Freshmen face many challenges and stresses trying to navigate their ninth grade year. Upperclassmen who are supportive have the potential to help the freshmen and transfer students be more engaged in school so they can focus on their academics and find their way in a supportive school environment. Students who are more engaged show greater signs of self-efficacy, motivation, and aspirations. Thus, this means they are more likely to feel connected to their school and be successful.
